Funding reaches 185,000

There’s plenty of good news on the financial front. After lots of blood, sweat and tears we have received two more grants, £15,000 from the Tudor Trust and £50,000 from the Greater Dartmoor LEAF fund, both grants towards the capital project. There are time limits on these, so the committee are having a big push to reach the total required and break ground on the new site.   The total amount raised with confirmed grants, grants received and local fundraising has reached £185,000.

On a less exciting, but still very positive note, turnover has breached the £400 per week barrier, so ‘Thank you all for shopping at  Exbourne.’

Grassroots Celebrations

The Grassroots Community Organisation has awarded EJCAL a £5,000 grant towards the running of the temporary shop. Grassroots recently reached a total of £7 million in grant funding with the award to EJCAL topping the £7million mark.  Sarah Gunn from the Devon Community Foundation and her photographer, Rupert came along on Friday, 5th February to see how the grant was being used, meet the customers and promote The Burrow shop and café.   We were joined by West Devon Borough Council Outreach Services and Exbourne  pre-school came up for a shopping trip to buy ingredients for making cakes..
