Every little helps
On Saturday 5 June Exbourne & Jacobstowe’s Summer Community Market saw yet more money being raised for the construction of their new community shop. With over ₤800 changing hands that’s a lot of breakfasts and local produce sold! Exbourne & Jacobstowe Community Association is now having its final push to raise the remaining funds required to begin the construction of ‘The Burrow’, the first community shop in
England to be built underground.
Members who attended the Annual General Meeting on the 9th June were treated to a most interesting and amusing talk by the guest speaker, author and journalist James Crowden who brought along a selection of his books and poems.
Marie Winckler , Chair of EJCAL brought the members up-to-date on progress, £205,000 raised in confirmed grants and local fundraising.
