Local Produce Bonanza

Exbourne’s Community Market and Big Breakfast was held on Saturday 10 December at Exbourne’s Village Hall. Stallholders offered local produce including cakes, meats, vegetables, sustainable Christmas trees, and mistletoe. Craft stalls included hand made jewellery, pottery, gifts and artwork. The delicious locally- sourced Big Breakfast was served throughout the morning, and face painting added to occasion.

The event was very sociable with customers and stallholders chatting long after the transactions had been completed. The event turnover was approx £1,152.00, with part of the proceeds going towards equipping the new underground shop, which is taking shape now.

Sincere thanks must go to the hardworking volunteers who make this event happen twice yearly.

Build Update

The structural floors and foundations are in and the walls are up and it is hoped that the roof will be cast before Christmas. The build is very much on track.

Digging gets Underway

It all started with a blessing of the ground ceremony led by Rev Ruth Hansford and Rev Philip Wagstaff and witnessed by around 40 people. The first spade went in on Monday 5 September, closely followed by the diggers. As the Chairman of the Committee, Marie Winckler said; "this is a very exciting moment for Exbourne...and a new beginning." Thirty weeks of construction work will now follow to build a very exciting and innovative shop and community facility.
