Okehampton TimesWe held a very successful community market and ‘big breakfast’ on Saturday 6th June. Lots of local producers attended, selling vegetables, speciality breads, meat, plants, pottery, jewellery, flower arrangements, cakes, and more! The Bishop of Plymouth joined the throng for breakfast and, as part of the celebrations to mark the 1100th anniversary of the Diocese, spoke on the importance of communities. By the end of the morning, 74 breakfasts had been served and almost £1200 changed hands, so all in all it was a very successful event. As the Okehampton Times have been following the project’s progress over the years, they were keen to report on the event and we were therefore delighted to be splashed across the front page of the 11 June edition.
